Amy’s Expert Comments

The Tailored Moulded Strapless Bra offers a firm, stay-put fit that supports and shapes beautifully. It can run a little big in the back and cup so we recomend sizing down in both to get a snugger, more supportive fit. For example, if your usual size is 12F, try a 10F.

The Freya Tailored Moulded Strapless Bra is the perfect companion to the Tailored Brief or Tailored Brazilian Brief.

Caring for Your Bra

Just like your bra takes care of you, you can return the favour and take care of it too! It’s ideal to wash your bra every time you wear it, but this may vary on whether it was a chilled day with your regular bra or an intense workout in your sports bra.

To extend the lifespan of your bra we recommend you hand wash it in cool water with a mild detergent and dry flat in the shade. Most non wired bras can be machine washed. Ensure the clips are fastened and use a garment bag to prevent damage. Wash on a cool, gentle cycle avoiding fabric softeners. If you opt to line dry, hang your bra in half, not from the shoulder strap or back strap. Avoid using pegs. Never tumble dry, bleach, iron or dry clean your bra.

Please always check the manufacturer’s guidelines for how to wash and care for your  bra. We want your bra to last as long as possible so please visit caring for your  bra for further information.

Common questions

Are padded bras good for large breasts?

Yes. Padded bras can work very well for larger and fuller breasts.

Lightly padded or moulded cups can provide shaping and nipple coverage without adding too much bulk. Support mainly comes from the band and cup construction rather than the padding itself.

If you're unsure of your size, our Determine Your Size guide is a great place to start.

Are padded sports bras good for large breasts?

Yes. Padded sports bras can work very well for larger breasts. Look for bra-sized designs with supportive cups and a firm underband. Lightly padded or moulded cups can provide shaping and coverage without adding too much bulk. The most important thing is finding a bra that fits your breasts properly.

Are padded sports bras good for running and high-impact exercise?

Yes, provided the bra is designed specifically for high-impact activities. Padding itself doesn't control breast movement. Support comes from features such as structured cups, a firm band and secure straps. Always check the bra's recommended support level before choosing it for running or vigorous exercise.

Are padded sports bras hot or uncomfortable during exercise?

Not necessarily. Many modern padded sports bras use lightweight, breathable materials designed for exercise. However, thicker padding can sometimes feel warmer during intense workouts. If you tend to get hot, look for lightweight cups and breathable fabrics. The right fit can also make a big difference to your overall comfort.

Are strapless bras good for large breasts?

Yes. A well-designed strapless bra can provide excellent support for larger and fuller breasts.

Look for a firm, supportive band and structured cups that comfortably contain your breasts. Wider bands and additional side support can also help provide stability.

Correct sizing is particularly important. Our Determine Your Size guide is a great place to start.

Are underwired bras better for large breasts?

Underwired bras can be a great choice for larger and fuller breasts.

The wire helps support and separate each breast, while the band and cups provide lift and shaping. However, underwire isn't essential for good support.

The best bra is one that fits your individual shape correctly. Our Bra Fit Hub has plenty of advice to help you find the right fit.

More about Underwired Bras for Shape and Everyday Confidence

Are underwired bras comfortable for everyday wear?

Yes. A correctly fitted underwired bra should feel comfortable enough for everyday wear.

The wire should sit around your breast tissue rather than pressing or digging into it. You shouldn't experience painful rubbing, pinching or poking.

If your bra feels uncomfortable, our How Should a Bra Fit? guide can help identify common fitting problems.

Are underwired sports bras comfortable during exercise?

Yes, a correctly fitted underwired sports bra should feel comfortable during exercise. The wire should sit around your breast tissue rather than digging into it. You shouldn't experience painful pressure, rubbing or pinching. If the wire feels uncomfortable, check your size and fit. Sometimes a different cup shape can make a big difference.

More about Underwired Sports Bras

Are underwired sports bras good for running and high-impact exercise?

Yes. Many underwired sports bras are specifically designed for running and high-impact activities. They often use encapsulated cups to support each breast individually. This can help control uncomfortable movement when running, jumping or changing direction. Just check that your chosen bra is designed for high-impact exercise.

Do big bust sports bras really reduce breast bounce?

Yes. A well-fitting big bust sports bra can significantly reduce uncomfortable breast movement during exercise. Good support comes from the entire bra, particularly the band and cups. The correct size is equally important for keeping everything comfortably secure. Some movement is normal, but you shouldn't feel excessive or uncomfortable bouncing.

Do padded bras make your breasts look bigger?

Not always. A lightly padded bra can provide shape and coverage without noticeably increasing your bust size.

Thicker padding and push-up styles can create more volume or enhance cleavage. Moulded cups often focus more on creating a smooth, rounded shape.

Check the individual cup construction if you want shaping without extra volume.

More about Padded | Moulded Bras

Do padded sports bras provide more support?

Not necessarily. Padding can provide extra coverage and help create a smooth, rounded shape. Most sports bra support comes from the band, cups and overall construction. A non-padded sports bra can provide just as much support when properly designed. Choose your sports bra based on its support level rather than padding alone.

More about Padded or Moulded Sports Bras

Do padded sports bras stop nipples showing?

Padded sports bras generally provide more nipple coverage than thin, non-padded styles. Light padding or moulded cups create an extra layer between your breasts and clothing. This can provide a smoother appearance underneath fitted activewear. Coverage can vary, so check the cup construction when choosing your bra.

How do I stop a strapless bra from falling down?

A strapless bra relies heavily on its band for support, so getting the fit right matters.

The band should feel firm and stay level around your body without sliding down. Many strapless bras also use silicone or gripper elastic to help them stay securely positioned.

If your bra keeps slipping, check the fit rather than simply choosing a tighter bra. Our How Should a Bra Fit? guide can help.

A big bust sports bra should feel firm and secure without being painfully tight. The band should sit level around your body and stay in place during movement. Your breasts should fit completely inside the cups without spilling or gaping. Your straps should feel comfortable too. Most support should come from the band, not your shoulders.

Should I choose an underwired or wirefree bra?

Both can provide excellent support, so your choice comes down to fit and personal preference.

Underwired bras can provide excellent separation, lift and shaping. Wirefree bras provide support without a wire and may feel more flexible for some women.

There's no right choice for everyone. Our Bra Styles Guide can help you compare different bra styles and find one that suits you.

Should I size down in a strapless bra?

Not automatically. Start with your current, correctly fitted bra size.

A strapless bra may feel firmer because the band does more of the supporting work. However, choosing a band that's too small can become uncomfortable and affect how the cups fit.

If you're unsure of your size, visit our Determine Your Size guide before choosing.

What does a padded bra actually do?

A padded bra uses extra material within the cups to provide shape, coverage and a smooth appearance.

The amount of padding varies between styles. Some bras are lightly padded, while others use thicker padding to create more volume.

Padding doesn't automatically mean more support. Our Bra Styles Guide can help you compare different bra styles.

What is the best sports bra for a big bust?

The best sports bra for a big bust should feel supportive, secure and comfortable. Look for bra-sized designs with supportive cups, a firm band and adjustable straps. What is the difference between a padded and non-padded bra?

Padded bras contain additional material within the cups, providing extra coverage and a more defined shape.

Non-padded bras usually feel lighter and allow your natural breast shape to show more. They can still provide excellent support, particularly when they have structured or seamed cups.

Neither is better for everyone. Choose whichever feels comfortable and gives you the shape and coverage you prefer.

What type of strapless bra is best for me?

The best strapless bra depends on your breast shape, size and what you're wearing.

Moulded styles can create a smooth shape under fitted clothing. Non-padded designs may feel lighter, while convertible bras provide extra flexibility with removable straps.

Your breast shape can also influence which cups fit best. Our Breast Shape Guide can help you understand your shape and choose more confidently.

Why does the underwire dig into my breasts or underarms?

Underwire discomfort can have several causes. Your cup may be too small, the wire may be the wrong shape, or the bra style may not suit your breasts.

The wire should surround your breast tissue rather than resting on it. It also shouldn't painfully press into your underarms.

If this keeps happening, check your size using our Determine Your Size guide. Understanding your breast shape can also help you choose a better-fitting style.
